This magnificent Grade II listed house had been converted into a mix of offices and flats, and our brief was to refashion a contemporary family residence, reawakening its splendor. The impending arrival of a baby meant allowing just two months to gain planning permission, with everything needing to be right first time to achieve the deadline. Design meetings with our clients were conducted quickly, efficiently and generally on weekends and evenings to fit their schedules.
We gained planning permission for a rear mansard extension, a reconfigured basement, and the opening up of previously pokey rooms, and made and fitted new doors, stairs and windows throughout to match the originals. In the end, we created a stunning six-bedroom, seven-bathroom house with expansive living accommodation, including a huge playroom, whilst preserving the property’s many period features. A beautiful home with an abundance of accommodation and no compromise to period character.
