When the opportunity to buy an adjacent apartment came up for our clients, our residential architects were presented with the chance to triple the size of family living spaces and design a truly magnificent apartment in Kensington.
The design challenge was to remove walls between the two flats and get the necessary permissions in place, managing the sensibilities and goodwill of numerous neighbours in two buildings on several floors. Simultaneously, our architects juggled managing agents, party wall negotiations and structural engineers, triumphing in the end to design a united and rather magnificent apartment of palatial proportions. The elegant and stylish interior was deigned and built in a collaboration with interior designer Paolo Moschino of Nicholas Haslam, whom our client knew and wanted us to design interiors alongside. This apartment is now an original and spectacular home, perfect for parties whilst also housing the owners’ large and eclectic art collection and providing a suitable setting for their fine antique furniture.
